Personal {Trip to Nova Scotia}

This post is so delayed but better late than never! I took a trip home to Halifax, Nova Scotia to visit family and friends in July. I spent a few glorious days at my family’s cottage. This shot is of the lake in front of the cottage:

This is my gorgeous friend, Ashley. I took a ton of pictures of her while I was at home. I couldn’t decide if I liked the color or the black and white picture better, so I decided to post both.

One Year {Vancouver-versary)

Today marks my one year anniversary of MOVING TO VANCOUVER. I cannot believe that a year has flown by so quickly already. It feels like just yesterday I was packing up my life in Halifax and hopping on a West Jet flight bound for YVR.

My first year in Vancouver has been quite wonderful, and it has definitely helped me to decide that it is only the first of many years to come. A lot has happened in the past year, and today I want to take a few minutes to share some of my favourite photographic memories from Year ONE in Vancouver.

I could write a long entry about what my first year in this city has been like, or I can just skip to the fun part (the photos)… clearly I’m going to opt for the more fun option. Basically all of these pictures were taken with my blackberry, but some were taken with my imac camera (photo booth all the way!!), or my canon. Enjoy!!!

Sneak Peek: Coffee Bar {Gastown, Vancouver}

Wow. I am TERRIBLE with updating my blog. I’m really trying to correct this, I promise.

Last week, Amanda and I headed to one of our favourite little coffee shops, Coffee Bar, in Gastown to snap a few pictures. This is a personal project that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. VanDusen Botanical Gardens

Last weekend my friend, Amanda, and I decided that we wanted to get into the Christmas spirit and decided to do a ‘lame’ bus tour. We bought the bus tour on groupon last month and we were about to get it for 50% (that’s my kind of deal)! We bundled up with our holiday drinks from Starbucks and boarded the bus full of children, and seniors – we were definitely the only 20-somethings on the bus… haha. The bus driver drove us around downtown to show us a few impressive Christmas light displays and then we headed to VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Wow. That is really the only word to summarize what VanDusen looked like. It was such a spectacular light show, and not at all what I was expecting. I went into it not expecting much more than a few strands of light strung from the trees in the garden, but was pleasantly surprised when we arrive and discovered that the garden was transformed into a Christmas wonderland! There aren’t a lot of ways to explain what we saw, so I thought it would be best to show you…

Ironically enough, this picture of Amanda was the last one that I took at VanDusen. It’s my favourite though – so I thought it deserved to be at the beginning of this post.

Tunes on Tuesday & Sneak Peek

Hello my lovelies! I was a little busy last week and didn’t get around to posting, so this week I’ll post my top 5 songs of the week to make up for it!

These songs have all been on repeat for the past two weeks. They make my heart happy ♥

1. Take Care – Drake & Rihanna.

2. The Motto – Drake & Lil’ Wayne

3. Rumor Has It/ Someone Like You – Glee

4. Haunted – SonReal ft. Ali Milner

5. Smile Back – Mac Miller

1 & 2 – Drake’s new album (which I’ve been waiting for since summer of 2010!!!!) finally came out on November 15th. The whole album has been on repeat, but Take Care & The Motto are definitely my favorite. 3 -This amazing mash-up was sung by the amazing girls on Glee last week, it’s been on repeat since the episode aired. Brilliant mash-up : ) 4 – SonReal is an AMAZING local artist. Amanda and I had the pleasure of going to his show on November 9th and he didn’t disappoint. He’s one of those rare artists that sounds BETTER in person. We were so impressed. We’ve been listening to him non-stop since we moved here and it was amazing to finally go to one of his shows. Check him out if you haven’t heard of him. 5 – Last but not least, Mac Miller. He is an amazing rapper from PA who’s career is finally launching after a lot of hard work and free mixtapes. His first album launched on iTunes last week and I just had to buy it. When you love an artist, you HAVE to support them. I’m a huge iTunes advocate and I get made fun of a lot because of it. Anyway, this song is awesome and you should check it out.

Hello dear blog readers! I hope you all had a fabulous week! This week has been pretty busy and wonderful all wrapped in one. I had a wonderful weekend full of catching up with friends (old and new), BC lions game, driving around Vancouver with my best friend enjoying the sunny neighbourhoods, and lots more!Here are the three songs that have been on REPEAT all week in my iTunes library
